So it Starts!

As a beader and lover of art deco i have been collecting deco style findings and plan to modern/art deco the house.I have decided to do the interior white, and the exterior one step up from white into the pink range. Its hardly noticeably pink, except in the tin where it looks like melted musk lollies, accents will be in salmon and toothpaste blue as i call it.

The kit is fantastic, all doors, windows etc packed in boxes, easy directions, lots of bits, and this is the ground floor starting up with a few bits to have a look.

MY MODERN HOUSE PROJECT

Well i finally got what i have always wanted, the malibu House by Doll House Emporium.
When i first started in mini's 15 years ago i loved this house,it was around a 1,000 pounds Uk money, and as i am in australia was unatainable.
I have spent the last 7 years as a beader, and slowly watching my houses and roomboxes being destroyed,as i live in a rainforest in eastern New South Wales,we have a cute hoppy native rat, that is just as destructive as any other kind and hard to friendly no-kill trap.Poisining them is awful, they die in the walls and stink, and you dont want the local snakes to eat them.
I had been looking for ages at Brinca dada's Bennet House, ultra modern, but they said they would be available in australia in Nov2011,no show, tried to get one from ebay, over $400US postage, solar lights and an elevator not withstanding, out of my reach.

So....while browsing the net,as you do....i came across a mini site,www.dheaustralia.com.au?and thought, dont remember that from the old days and viola!!!it turned out to be dollhouse emporium here in oz,and there was the malibu,$480au,sundeck $140 au,no hesitation, moved savings to paypal account and bought it.Woot Woot as my 27 year old son says.

Two more good things happened,as my order went through 1st feb,i received the sundeck free!!!!!20% of the house, and it arrived on my birthday wweeeeee, what a great buy.
